Keep your original file. Review the import, inspect the proposed changes, and decide what to apply.

01

Bring your existing plan

Import an Excel, CSV, Project XML, or MPP file. Check the imported tasks, dates, and dependencies.

02

Check the schedule logic

Find missing dependencies, risky deadlines, resource pressure, and tasks that may drive the final date.

03

Adapt to project changes

Describe what changed and preview the affected tasks before updating the plan.

04

Approve, save, and deliver

Apply the reviewed revision, save your working plan, then export Excel or Project XML for handoff.

A Gantt chart is easy to draw.
A reliable schedule is harder.

Most tools help you list tasks. GanttPilot helps you turn rough project input into a schedule that can be checked, changed, and explained.

Existing files

Your plan already exists

Start from the Excel task list or Project file your team already uses. Review the imported tasks and dates instead of rebuilding the schedule from a blank chart.

Hidden logic

Spreadsheets hide schedule logic

Rows and dates are easy to edit, but dependency gaps, deadline pressure, and overloaded resources are easy to miss until the plan breaks.

Ripple effects

Every change creates a ripple effect

A delayed approval, new task, changed deadline, or resource issue can move more than one date. GanttPilot previews the impact before the schedule changes.

Bring a plan in.
Take a reviewed revision out.

A file handoff needs more than a convincing AI answer. Check the changes in the schedule itself.

01

Import

Open the team's existing schedule. Review field mapping and import warnings before continuing.

02

Request a revision

Explain a delayed delivery, a changed duration, or a resource constraint. Ask for the impact on the plan.

03

Inspect and approve

Compare the proposed changes with the current tasks and dates. Apply only after reviewing the proposal.

04

Save and export

Save the revised schedule, then download Excel or Project XML. Check the output before sending it to your team.

to build and revise a project schedule.

File import

Import the task list or schedule file you already have instead of rebuilding everything from scratch.

Schedule check

Check dependencies, deadline risk, resource pressure, and tasks that may affect the final milestone.

Change preview

When dates, scope, or resources change, see which tasks move and by how much before the plan is updated.

Save and reopen

Keep a working version in your account and return to it when the next change arrives.

Excel and Project XML export

Download a spreadsheet for review or a Project XML file for continued scheduling work.

AI drafts and templates

More structured than chat.
Lighter than project management software.

GanttPilot is not trying to manage your entire company. It helps you build project schedules people can actually use.

Current workflowTypical problemGanttPilot approach
Compared with chat

Chat can describe a plan, but the output is still text.

GanttPilot turns the plan into editable schedule data: tasks, durations, dependencies, milestones, and a Gantt timeline.

Compared with spreadsheets

Spreadsheets are easy to edit, but they do not show how one change affects the rest of the plan.

GanttPilot keeps schedule logic visible while you create, check, and adapt the plan.

Compared with heavy PM tools

Full project management platforms can be powerful but slow to set up.

GanttPilot focuses on the schedule layer: create, check, adapt, and share.

Works with the schedule files your team already uses.

Import Excel, CSV, XLSX, Microsoft Project XML, or MPP schedules. Review and adjust them in GanttPilot, then export Project XML for handoff to Microsoft Project or other planning tools.

Questions about AI Gantt scheduling.

Answers about Gantt chart generation, editable schedules, revision previews, and export.

What is GanttPilot?

GanttPilot is a workspace for importing, reviewing, revising, and delivering project schedules. Bring an existing file or create a draft with AI, then keep control of the changes.

Is GanttPilot just an AI Gantt chart generator?

No. GanttPilot can generate a Gantt chart from a prompt, but the schedule stays editable. You can review dependencies, preview changes, and approve revisions before the plan is updated.

Can I import Excel, Microsoft Project XML, or MPP files?

Yes. You can start from Excel, CSV, XLSX, Microsoft Project XML, or MPP schedules, then continue editing and reviewing the plan in GanttPilot.

Does AI update my schedule automatically?

No. GanttPilot shows a revision preview first. AI suggests the update, but you choose what gets applied.

What types of projects can I plan with GanttPilot?

GanttPilot works for project schedules with tasks, dates, dependencies, and revisions, including product launches, client delivery, marketing campaigns, events, construction, installation, and operations work.

Does GanttPilot replace Microsoft Project or Primavera P6?

Not exactly. GanttPilot can work alongside traditional planning tools: import or review schedule files, use AI checks and revision previews, then export Project XML when a handoff is needed.

Can I export my schedule?

Yes. Save your working plan and download Excel or Project XML. Native .mpp export is not available: open the exported XML in Microsoft Project and save it there if you need an .mpp file.

Will every field in my original file be preserved?

Import and export support depends on the format and fields in your file. Review the imported dates, dependencies, calendars, and any warnings. Check the exported file in its destination tool before delivery; keep your original file.

Do import, export, or applying changes use AI requests?

Importing, saving, and exporting do not consume AI requests. A completed billable AI revision is charged when its proposal is generated; applying that proposal does not add a charge. See Pricing for the full allowance and billing rules.
